This article examines the aftermath of the Arab uprisings with regards to the Coptic community in Egypt, their relationship with the newly elected government of the Muslim Brotherhood, the rise of the Maspero movement, as well as the factors which led to the support of the new military regime of al-Sisi. In addition, the author focuses on the advent of Pope Tawadros as head of the Coptic Church and the re-establishment of the special relationship with the Egyptian state.
